STONE DEPOT ON THE STATE ROAD by
Richard Kent Streeter
__About
a Georgia railroad and a 150-year old depot (on National Register
of Historic Places) and a famous town on the tracks between Atlanta

history in Southeastern American, it is about Indians, farmers,
merchants, families, mountain, valleys, primitive highways, early
railroads, the Civil War...and with tributes to real heroes, too.
"Battle of Ringgold Gap" (fought at and around the depot
in Nov. 1863) and "The Great Locomotive Chase" (that ended
shortly after passing the depot in April 1862) are given special
treatment.
